TBG & UMBC Continuing and Professional Studies

UMBC wanted a fresh and professional face for their Continuing & Professional Studies (CPS) website; TBG (The Berndt Group) made it happen. The Continuing and Professional Studies site needed to meet a variety of criteria, including a dynamic homepage that grabbed a user's attention while offering clear usability.

The homepage imagery showcased the diverse student body at CPS. Because CPS needed to reach a variety of audiences, including business and academic partners, graduate students, international students, professionals, and undergraduate students, the primary navigation was segmented by audience.

The overall brand of UMBC's CPS needed to be distinctive and unique, but at the same time fit into the larger UMBC brand aesthetic. The site used the xCatalyst content management system.

All in all, the site accomplished the client's goals for the site:

  • dynamic and eye-catching design;
  • clear organization of content;
  • high usability for all audiences;
  • content management so the site could be maintained in-house; and 
  • a website that served as both a marketing piece and an information tool.
